What better way to get your child's attention on Christmas morning than to wrap up their presents in some creative ways! My Siaki is a big fan of Disney's movie – Planes: Fire and Rescue. What other better way than to make that easy on my pocket because Walmart has several of their toys on Rollback. They include, Disney Planes Flight to the Finish Speedway Rollback to $24.97, Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Die-Cast Vehicles, 3-Pack Rollback to $14.97, Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Deluxe Talking Vehicle Assortment Rollback to $19.97, Planes Character Assortment die-cast set and the Disney Planes: Fire and Rescue Character Assortment die-cast set are both on rollback at $4.97. You can find them on the small aisles in the front of the main toy aisles where they have their promotions!
I got the Disney Planes: Fire and Rescue Dusty with a programmable remote that's actual on rollback online and they price matched in the store! I decided that I really wanted to make it exciting for Siaki to see when he walked down our stairs and saw the tree all adorned with Dusty Crophopper in his Santa hat lined with some tinsel ribbon. This really took me less than 5 minutes and I think it's just the cutest!
I used a party hat shape in Cricut Design Space and some stiff felt that I grabbed at my local Walmart to create this. If you don't have a Cricut Explore, I love the party hat tutorial that Jones Design Company has on her site. She has a full hat printable that you can use but obviously you won't be able to see Dusty Cropphopper's cute little face, so you can just follow the shape and size it to be about 2″ high. I rounded it together in my hands and hot glued it together on the seams, starting at the top first. I picked up this really cute tinsel ribbon at my local Paper Source and again, hot glued it around the edges. I cut a small amount and glued it to the top to add the topper! Again, so easy and it cost less than $1.
Make sure that if you're taking everything out of the box to wrap each element. In this case, it had a remote so I just used the same tinsel ribbon and made a bow around one of the thumb grips of the remote. Use your imagination, something that you may think is silly may be the most awesome thing to your children and it'll bring out your inner child.
Make sure you stop by your local Walmart and get some Disney Planes toys that are on Rollback. Let me know too, what is the most creative you've gotten with a gift? I remember as a kid always being amazed with the detail my mom took with wrapping the presents. I was 4 when I noticed that hers and Santa's writing was the same. We always remember some weird things when we're younger and some of the most magical things!
XOXO, Lindsay

What a cute little Santa hat for Dusty! I remember my mom’s handwriting being the same as Santa’s when I was young too. I forget the excuse she used, though. The next year, the handwriting was completely different so I think she was trying to keep the magic alive for a few more years. #client
