I first did this project over at Hazel and Ruby's blog. I you don't remember or didn't know, I am one of their Makery Members. There are definitely some talented ladies on the team so I'm really honored to be a part of it. This project was so easy and a lot of fun. The kids love having something cool that they can practice their spelling with and I like having a little bit of different things on the fridge that aren't those generic plastic numbers and letters.
First, I headed to Michaels and they have this great new RAW bar. It's just items that are natural and it's pretty awesome. They have bags of different sizes of cork circular discs. Mine was 1.5″ and there were 50 in the bag and cost around $8. I then grabbed 2 bottles of Krylon spray paint. This stain one is one that is sprayed on then wiped off just 5 minutes later. It's great for the stencils too because it's easy to clean.
I used two stencils for this project. The Mixed Numbers Stencil Masks and the Typewriter Alpha Stencil Mask. They are some of their newest stencils and I'm seriously in love! Hazel and Ruby knocked it out of the park with their new Fall line.
I did let this cure overnight so that it would be 100% dry, I added magnets to the back. I just used magnet sheets because I'm only planning on to use these as spelling letters. If I was going to use these to hang things on the fridge, I would spend a few extra dollars and get the round, stronger magnets.
That's it, it's time to spell away with your little spellers or make more to make a fun message for your loved one. It's so much fun and just a little way to break up some time with the all the Holiday decorating going on.
XOXO, Lindsay
