Gift cards are essential for the upcoming holiday season but buying Christmas gifts can get a little daunting when you have a lot of people to take care of. There is always someone I forget even though I've made 10 lists consisting of gifts to get people. I've created an easy last-minute Christmas gift using my new Cricut Explore Air 2 and some paper I had around the house. All I had to do was grab a Starbucks gift card while I was out and about
Supplies:
- Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker
- Design Space File
- Cricut Pen
- Cricut Scoring Tool
- Cardstock
- Adhesive
I started with some amazing cardstock from My Minds Eye and used the fry box shape along with a bow shape. All of these shapes are available at no extra charge if you have Cricut Access. To start, I powered in my Cricut Explore Air 2 and loaded my mat into the machine. I cut my bow using green cardstock and assembled. I next loaded in my red cardstock and my scoring tool. Once the machine had scored my fry box, I loaded in a 0.4 tip black Cricut pen. After the shape was drawn, it automatically went to cutting.Because this cardstock is so thick, I chose the poster board setting on my dial. The box was pretty easy to put together. I did use my scoring tool to help me get a crisp edge where the bottom curves but that was really all I needed help with.Using my Cricut Explore 2 was the best idea because it gave me ample amount of time to think of what I could put in the box and it can cut up to 2X faster on certain materials. I use my Cricut Explore all the time and now that I have the Air 2, things just got a little better.
