Create these simple and homemade neighbor gifts for ChristmasWhat can I say about my neighbors? They have all been so incredible to us, the ones we know. I don't have a very outgoing personality so I'm often intimidated to talk to new people. However, with our kids being in school together and now in sports together, I've really been blessed to have some awesome and helpful neighbors (that I now know).

I wanted to do something amazing for them but since I've got a baby in the hospital, a kindergartner, and two more older boys – my life has been pretty chaotic lately. I remember I saw some chocolate dipped marshmallows years ago and remembered how awesome they looked, so I went to Orson Gygi, grabbed some sucker sticks and some chocolate and got right to work. Create these simple and homemade neighbor gifts for ChristmasYou begin by skewering 3 larger marshmallows on 8″ sucker sticks. Next, it can be a little tricky tempering your chocolate so read this post here for an easy microwave version. Make sure you have your toppings ready too. Here I have flaked coconut that I toasted in a 350• oven for 6 minutes and I also used (and already ate) some Butterfinger Baking Bits. For the coconut, I used white chocolate; and for the Butterfingers, I used milk chocolate.

Line a tray with some parchment and get going! Dip your marshmallows into the chocolate making sure you get a good enough coating around all the sides of the marshmallow. You'll then roll it in your topping mixture.

It can be messy and some of the chocolate will try to come out but save those extra bits for later, you'll thank me. Now just place them on your parchment and allow them to get hard. Place them in a clear cellophane bag and tie with a fun ribbon. Think about adding these same toppings to caramel apples, some of the best I've tasted!Create these simple and homemade neighbor gifts for ChristmasIt doesn't get any easier than skewering and dipping. Friends will be thankful that you took the time to do something homemade for them yet they won't care how simple it is – its solely the thought that counts.
