Buttercream Frosting
- 1 stick butter softened
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 4-5 tbsp milk
- ¼ tsp Kelly green gel food coloring
- Multicolored candies
Once you prepare your cookie dough, roll it on a floured surface so that it’s about ¼ of an inch thick. With a cookie cutter, cut out a wreath shape – we had a cookie cutter that also cut out a circle on the inside. If you don’t have one, you’ll use two different-sized circular cookie cutters to achieve the look.
Bake and allow to cool completely.
With an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar and milk on medium speed. Gradually increase to high. Once the ingredients start mixing, add food coloring. Mix until buttercream is smooth and forms semi-stiff peaks.
Using a frosting bag and Wilton tip #32, frost each cookie then add multicolored candies (they will act as the Christmas lights for your wreath!).
