I swear I don’t know how many parts this thing will have, maybe 20, ha! No, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to make this room complete but I want to show you a must have for a bathroom. Bathroom Accessories. When it comes to choosing them, there are so many options and it’s a rough choice. You want quality but you also want good style along with a good price. A few years ago I worked at a high-end company that sold some serious stunners of bath/hardware accessories. I would see everything and I learned a lot. You’ve got to look for something that is sturdy, not just a little dingy, flimsy piece of metal that is holding on to some hollow pole. You want to make sure the company has a good reputation and has a good standing with the company you’re buying from. Check out Moen’s guarantee here.
I’m not saying that buying from a big box store is bad, however, you will get a lot more options if you go to a showroom or take the time to research before you just head out and buy what they’ve got. A lot of times the big box stores will have those styles in stock, if not, a showroom is the safest route to go. If you’re doing a flip, it can really show in the finishes you choose how you did in the underlying work. I am a firm believer in do it right the first time.
When I was at SNAP I had the opportunity to meet up with the Moen, Inc. group. They were some of the sweetest people ever. Before our bathroom had some Pottery Barn accessories. We paid a high price for those accessories, I am not going to lie, they were crap. Even with the help of anchors and screwed into studs, they fell out, the poles would not stay attached, they were constantly needing to be readjusted. It was a headache. When I was contacted by Moen they asked if I would like to try some bath accessories and I instantly took the chance. You see, when I worked at the high-end place, Moen was one of the top sellers and they were always a name to be trusted and they were the ones who were the lowest priced.
I chose to go with the Rothbury accessories and they are gorgeous! I chose the chrome finish cause it’s a classic and the light bouncing off of it just makes the room brighter. We also decided to go with a Double Curved Shower Rod for a couple of reasons. My kids have never liked showering in there because they feel it’s too small so this adds the perfect amount of space. Also, I plan on adding an additional drapery so this is perfect for that. You can choose to have your liner and curtain this far apart though. If you don’t want them that far apart, they’ve made these Double Shower Hooks. My husband said it was a little rough to install but I think it was just an obstacle to hang anything long but yourself or with an 8-year-old.
I can honestly say that I’ve been very happy with these. I would most definitely recommend you to buy them and give them a try. They are worth every penny and I would say to give the showroom buying an experience. You get your own salesman and you may not have instant gratification but you get more choices and more availability. I hope you’ll see me through part 20, lol.
**Moen did supply me with 100% of the product and I happily accepted. However, all opinions are mine and I would never recommend something that I personally wouldn’t buy.
