This recipe is a labor of love and it’s well worth the time and effort. I got most of the ingredients from Cost Plus World Market in their baking product section minus the Bahlsen biscuits that I grabbed in the cookie and cake aisle.Make this delicious Banana Cream Pie recipe with ingredients from World Market #ad #WorldMarketTribe #HolidayGetaway You’re going to want to start with preparing your pudding. Take your pudding packets and place them in a saucepan. Add your sugar and milk and heat it over medium heat. Before it started thickening, I added one pureed banana for flavor. You can whisk the pudding by hand but it may end up clumpy while it cools so I recommend using a handheld mixer. Once your pudding has thickened, transfer it to a cool bowl and cover the top with some cling film. Place it directly on the pudding to avoid a skin forming. Let it set in the fridge for 2 hours. Next is your crust (and the best part), take a package of Balshen Liebetz Butter Cookies and pulse them to a crumb. Melt your butter and add your cookie crumbs along with the sugar and mix. Place it in a pie tin and bake for 5-7 minutes until golden.Make this delicious Banana Cream Pie recipe with ingredients from World Market #ad #WorldMarketTribe #HolidayGetawayMake this delicious Banana Cream Pie recipe with ingredients from World Market #ad #WorldMarketTribe #HolidayGetawayMake this delicious Banana Cream Pie recipe with ingredients from World Market #ad #WorldMarketTribe #HolidayGetawayMake this delicious Banana Cream Pie recipe with ingredients from World Market #ad #WorldMarketTribe #HolidayGetawayMake this delicious Banana Cream Pie recipe with ingredients from World Market #ad #WorldMarketTribe #HolidayGetawayMake this delicious Banana Cream Pie recipe with ingredients from World Market #ad #WorldMarketTribe #HolidayGetaway Set it aside and allow it to cool. Now let’s make the ganache. Heat up your cream in a small saucepan and pour it over your Guittard Chocolate Chips. Cover it for 5 minutes and then stir until it’s all combined. If your chocolate starts to cool before it’s incorporated into the cream, pop it in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time. Pour 1/8-1/4 cup of chocolate ganache over your cookie crust. You want to then swirl the pie pan so that the ganache covers the sides of the crust. You want just a light coating of the ganache. Refrigerate for 15 minutes so it can solidify. Remove the crust from the fridge and thinly slice two bananas. You’ll want to place those slices directly on the ganache. Next, add the pudding to the top of the banana slices. Place some cling film over the pudding and chill until you’re ready to serve.

Once you’re ready to serve your delicious Banana Cream Pie, add freshly whipped cream to the top. Make it even more decadent and add some banana chips for a little added texture.

Yum! You’ve got a delicious Banana Cream Pie recipe that your family will rave about for years.

Mini French Apple Tart Recipe

April 8, 2015

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and Walmart Family Mobile. All opinions are mine alone. #MyDataMyWay #CollectiveBias

French Apple TartLike many of my recipes, I like easy, I like fast and I like no fuss but don’t get me wrong, I want flavor. One of my favorite chefs is Ina Garten but some of her recipes can call for weird ingredients and no shortcuts so it can be a little daunting. I decided to make her French Apple Tart and do it an easy, mini version that will take up less time and to do it in a way that is more practical to the everyday mother.

Apple Tart Ingredients

So for myself I went and picked up items of convenience. Of course there is the puff pastry sheets, the granny smith apples and the apricot jelly. Everything else I had on hand. If you wanted to prepare the apples ahead of time, go ahead and use a bit of freshly squeezed lemon juice on them to prevent them from turning brown. Another one of my weapons is my Samsung Galaxy Avant that I just picked up for $149 on Walmart Family Mobile. It helped me follow Ina’s simple instructions to a T and was a total resource for my scattered mind.

I've recreated Ina Garten's classic French Apple Tart to meet today's convenience for moms.
Course: Dessert
Servings: 12 tarts
Author: Lindsay aka Frenchie
  • 1 pkg Puff Pastry Sheets
  • 4 Granny Smith Apples
  • Granulated Sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. unsalted Butter
  • 3 Tbsp. Apricot Jelly
  • Lemon Juice if needed
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Thaw your Puff Pastry Sheets either overnight in the fridge or at room temperature for 40 minutes and unwrap.
  3. Use two sheet pans and lay out each sheet of dough onto each sheet pan.
  4. Cut each puff pastry into 6 sections. Once lengthwise and twice widthwise.
  5. *Be sure to keep dough as cold as possible until you are ready to put it in the oven.
  6. Cut your Granny Smith apples in half lengthwise and core. Now cut off the tops and bottoms to keep out any of the stems. Just like Ina says, she doesn't use the ends because she likes to keep the tart looking beautiful.
  7. Slice your apples about 1/4" thick and place them on the diagonal directly on the puff pastry.
  8. Once all your tarts are complete, sprinkle each tart with some granulated sugar and dot lightly with unsalted butter. Do not go heavy on the butter, you won't get the crispy edges. 🙁
  9. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 min. watching to make sure that there are no bubbles forming in your dough. If there is, just poke it with a fork to release the air. Once your pastries are removed, just put some of the Apricot Jelly in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Brush that on your pastries and they are ready to serve.

So another great way to utilize my secret weapon is use your data for a shopping trip. Pinterest is a great resource while your shopping. Ideally it’s something you want to lock down before but we don’t always have our ducks in a row. If someone asks you to make dinner for a family or you decided right then and there to try something new, head to Pinterest and try the popular page for some great resources. It’s not how it used to be where we used to have to rely on hard bound cookbooks or word of mouth to see if something was worth trying. If something was not good, people will let that be known!
