So these Pinata Cupcakes are my new favorite food! See how easy it is to create this Pinata Cupcake recipe for Cinco De Mayo or a fun Southwestern party. This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for your support.
Pinata Cupcakes are more about the topper than anything. You want to fill them with any candy you’d like but ones that have a type of shell coating on them. Fill these with Nerds, M&M’s, Skittles, Reese’s Pieces – the possibilities of fillings for your pinata cupcakes are endless.
I like to start with an easy store-bought mix that is inexpensive. Make sure you leave them unfrosted until you put your candies in them. Cut a small hole about the diameter of a nickel, and then fill the middle using a spoon.
Next, you’ll make your buttercream by mixing the butter, milk and powdered sugar. Whip it to a fluffy consistency and then frost your cupcakes. You’ll want a biscuit cutter that is the same diameter as your cupcake, so about 2″. Cut four circles of each color then slice them horizontally to make lines and then cut small fringe details in your pinata cupcakes. Just use your colors in varying patterns and the homemade pinata cupcakes and serve for the best fiesta ever!
Perfect for a Cinco De Mayo party or any fiesta you're going to throw, these Pinata Cupcakes are sure to be the perfect addition.

Roll each of your fondant pieces so that they’re each about ¼ of an inch thick. Using a cookie cutter about the same size as the top of your cupcakes, cut 3 circles of each circle.
We used a fondant mat to facilitate the next step, but you can also line your working surface with wax paper. Using a paring knife, cut each circle into 4 strips. Then, on the bottom of each strip, cut out little tassels.
Using your paring knife, cut out the center top off each cupcake. Fill with candies and place the top back on.
In a stand mixer, beat butter, sugar and milk until smooth. Place the buttercream in a piping bag and frost each cupcake.
Who’s excited to see the new Incredibles II movie? I know I am and I can’t wait to see Jack Jack! This chocolate covered Oreos recipe is perfect for an Incredibles Party.
Disney/Pixar movies are as good as you can get. This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for your support.
Incredibles II hits theaters June 15th and I’m really excited for Malakai to see it. I’ve always loved how the original Incredibles ended because it set up another story. I just didn’t think I’d have to wait this long to see the sequel. This chocolate covered Oreos recipe is perfect for your next Disney Incredibles party.
Begin by melting your chocolate melts in 30-second intervals. I like to use this method when I temper chocolate. You’re going to begin by placing a fork into the middle of the Oreo. Dip it into your chocolate melts and then lay it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Once your chocolate has melted onto your Oreos, use the premade black icing and create an oval for the background. Roll out your yellow fondant and use cornstarch to prevent it from sticking to your countertop. You’re going to cut them into rectangles and then angle the top to have it look like the Incredibles i. Next, lay them on top of the black oval. Use a small amount on to the back of the yellow M&M and place it on to your Oreo above the i. That’s it! It’s so easy to make this Incredibles Party Oreos.

2cupsRed Candy Melts
2-4 oz yellow fondant
cornstarch for dusting
black decorating icing (store-bought)
Line a baking sheet with wax paper. In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave candy melts and coconut oil in 30-second intervals until completely melted.
With the help of a fork, dip each Oreo cookie into melted candy and coat entirely. Place carefully on a lined baking sheet and allow to set.
As the candy sets onto the Oreo, prepare yellow fondant shapes. Line a small square pan with wax paper. Lightly cover your work surface with cornstarch and roll out your fondant until they are about ¼ of an inch thick.
Using kitchen scissors, cut out small rectangles, about 1.5 inches long. Then snip off the top at a diagonal.
With your black icing, draw out a solid black oval, on a bit of an angle (you’ll want it to look as much as The Incredibles logo as possible). Stick on your yellow candy (this will act as the “I’s” dot and then your fondant shapes.

Did you know that you can use your Cricut to make personalized cutlery? Create this personalized mermaid party cutlery for your next mermaid party. This post contains affiliate links. I receive a small commision from your purchase at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support.
This months theme for Craft Lightning is wood. Just give us some wood and 15 minutes and we’ll have some easy and quick mermaid party decor that will leave your guests in awe. Create custom wood cutlery with some vinyl and your electronic cutting machine. I use a Cricut. I know people have their preferences when it comes to a Cricut or a Silhouette. I’ve owned both. I haven’t used a Silhouette in probably 4 years. I love the design software but the cuts I would get were not great. I recently made these rosettes using some fibrous paper and the detail that Cricut was able to get just gets me every time. I have learned when cutting fibrous paper with my Cricut, I do intricate cuts with it on regular speed. Those stars are 1/4″! Anywho, let’s get back to business. This personalized wood cutlery was super easy to make. I just used some sparkling holographic vinyl and cut it into shapes that were 1/4″ wide.
With your Cricut Maker, select it from the main list. If you have a Cricut Explore, use the vinyl+ setting on your Smart Dial.
Just peel and place on the bottom of your wooden cutlery and you’re set for the perfect mermaid party. I’m planning a mermaid party for Leila this year so I’m really excited. I’m having The Sugar House Bakery make her amazing cakes and cookies. I’ve got Oriental Trading helping with the holographic details. My mother-in-law is also coming and she’s never been to the states. I’m nervous…On another easy breezy note, check out the other things that these creative bloggers made with wood. It’s all made under 15 minutes for Craft Lightning. I love these challenges.–
Did you know that Tuesday Morning offers a wide selection of scrapbooking supplies? I love taking everyday things and jazzing them up for the perfect Butterfly Party for spring. This post contains affiliate links. Thank you to Tuesday Morning for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
I love Tuesday Morning stores. They offer a great selection of name-brand everyday items, quality toys and an amazing scrapbooking selection. When I was there I saw several Cricut’s, We-R Memories Stitch Happy machines and Singer sewing machines. I was most excited to find some Bazzill cardstock that usually retails for $1 a sheet but I got it for $3.99 for 25! I have a lot of cardstock…a lot and I was really excited to add more to my collection.
I love the contrast of the black and white with the colors in the cardstock. These Maggie Holmes papers are some of my favorites. I found a lot of American Crafts brand items at Tuesday Morning. They’re always good quality and it’s even better finding it at a reasonable price. To create this butterfly party was really easy. I used some shapes in Cricut Design Space and then just assembled them all using some scrapbook adhesive. Just add some candies and ribbons and you’ve tied the entire look of the party together.7Tuesday Morning offers high-quality items at low prices. I love a good find and I love some good scrapbooking materials. I know that this will be my first stop when I’m looking for items from now on. Find your local Tuesday Morning store here.
Did you know you can cut as fine of a material as tissue paper with Cricut? I’m going to give you all the tips and tricks here to show you how easy it is.This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for your support.
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again – I love Lia Griffith’s membership. I’ve been able to download so many useful files including this super cute feather file. Grab her membership and create this file too.
To cut tissue paper, it can be kind of tricky. You have to use a light grip mat that isn’t brand new. You have to know that it’ll stay down but it also won’t stick when you are finished. There are many different qualities of tissue paper and I prefer to go with something that is a little bit more expensive than the dollar store.
Do not cut something that is super intricate. It will stick to the mat and ruin it. i.e.;
Begin by uploading the SVG file into Design Space. It’s just as simple as uploading a jpeg into Design Space. Place the tissue paper onto your light grip mat and load it into your machine.
If you have a Cricut Maker, the tissue paper setting will have you use the rotary blade. If you have a Cricut Explore, the fine point blade will work ok too, just choose the copy paper setting and a very clean mat.Cut away and then peel up the areas that you are not going to use first. Take your mat and slightly bend it backwards. This will make it easier to grab the cut tissue paper and not make any folds or tear it. Pull your mat away from your design carefully.
Once your design is cut, assemble it with the glue dots and the string and hang. I’ve cut tissue paper once before and I really loved the effect. For that project, I dipped the feather into glitter and it looked amazing. I used the fine tip blade for that project and it took a lot longer and I had more errors than when I had no errors using the rotary blade.Other bloggers have used the Create with Cricut Challenge to make other items with Tissue Paper. Check it out below.
Create the most EPIC Avengers Party with these Hulk Rice Krispie Treats. They're delicious and fun!
3-4small drops Kelly green gel food coloring
1.5cupspurple candy melts
½cupdark brown candy melts
½cupdark brown sprinkles
Candy decorating eyes
Black decorating frosting (ready-made
Coat a 9x9 square pan with 2 tbsp of butter and set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 3 tbsp butter and add all of your marshmallows. Stir until marshmallow is completed melted.
Color marshmallow mix with green food coloring and add rice cereal. Mix until thoroughly combined.
Evenly pat your cereal treats to the base of your coated pan. You can use a piece of wax paper to smooth it out (and so that your hands don’t get too sticky).
Allow for it to set (about one hour) and cut into rectangles. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
Microwave your purple candy melts and 2 tsp of coconut oil in 30-second intervals until melted. Dip the bottom of each of your cereal treats (about ¼ of the way up) and set on the lined baking sheet.
Microwave your black candy melts and 1 tsp of coconut oil in 30-second intervals until melted. Dip the top of each of your cereal treats and add sprinkles. This will act as the Hulk’s disheveled hair.
Using your black buttercream, stick on the candy eyes on the green portion of the cereal treats. Draw black buttercream lines above the candy eyes – these will act as the Hulk’s angry eyebrow
How to make your Avenger Treats
Follow the recipe and instruction below from the recipe card. It’s super easy. Just make a batch of Rice Krispie treats and color them green. I love this tried and true Rice Krispie Treat recipe I make all the time. Place them in a jelly roll pan and allow them to set before cutting them into rectangles. If you’re using a 9×9” casserole pan, you should get about 6 thick Rice Krispie Treats but I do like to double my recipe so that it covers my jelly roll pan. Melt your coating chocolate with the coconut oil. The coconut oil will make the coating chocolate a great shine. If you don’t have it, don’t worry about it. Dip one end into the purple set it down on a parchment lined baking sheet and allow it to harden. Dip the other end into the brown candy melts and then dip straight into the brown Jimmie sprinkles.
How to make Hulk’s eyes
Use your black decorating gel and create the eyebrows by drawing straight lines pointing inward to each other. Use the same gel and add them to the candy eyes and adhere them on the Hulk Rice Krispie Treats.
These are the perfect treat to have for an Avenger party or even your biggest Hulk fan. I can’t wait for Avengers: Infinity War to be released into theaters.
