I'm excited to announce that I have teamed up with 29 incredibly talented and creative bloggers to share some fun neighbor gift ideas. Make sure to check out all the ideas below and visit everyone's blogs for more details.
I always feel that a gift to someone doesn't always need to be homemade or has to have a lot of time put into it. To me it's a lot about the feeling behind it. I'm a big believer in charity and giving but also in receiving. To be able to give someone the fulfillment of those feelings, you have to be able to accept help. Most of the time we always think that we can handle everything that comes our way and that we've got it covered. We don't and it's ok to accept help and we have to learn that's also part of charity, to receive.
I wanted to do an easy neighbor gift for this blog hop. Something to less complicate my blog schedule, something to make it easy on myself and something that I could really pass on to my sweet neighbor who is always there for my family and I.
So I went to Ikea, got a $5 frame and then went to Costco and grabbed some of these stellar lemon bars from the Schwartz Brothers. OMGeeee, you have to find a way to get them. I used one of the new Christmas lines from My Minds Eye, Sleigh Bells Ring.
They have these pre-cut bows that I put together with my tiny attacher but you can use a standard stapler and attached a gift tag with a twine tassel.
For the frame, I used the paper again with the bow and then dug into my mixed bag ephemera and picked out my fave pieces that looked awesome layered. I started with the fun kind of tweed patterned paper and cut it to 5X7″ then I added this little calendar piece. I found this prancing reindeer and put some pop-dots behind it. Then with the 5, I adhered it with flat tape and used pop-dots for the 2.
For the washi tape, I just ripped random sections and placed it in the corner. These wooden circles are my favorite. They just add something incredibly fun.
I waited until I framed the piece to add my bow. I just placed the piece of glass behind the picture so that when the holidays are over, the frame can be re-used. Layering can be a little tricky but just try laying things out before glueing. It took me a while and I still don't have it all down but it comes at trial and error. Thanks for stopping by and it you're a first time visitor, make sure you're following me on social media so that you can keep up to date with all my projects!
XOXO, Lindsay
