You only need a few items to create this simple farmhouse Christmas wreath. I’m so glad to be participating in Craft Lightning for the holidays. To see my other Christmas wreath I created for Craft Lightning, click here.
- Wreath Form
- wire garland
- glue gun
You’ll want to spend the few extra dollars to get a green wreath form. I didn’t think that far ahead and just decided I could easily spray paint it. Don’t. The paint eats the foam and it turns sticky. I knew this but I didn’t think very far ahead. I used a 12″ wreath form that I picked up from my local Joann store.I also grabbed these wire garlands. For a wreath form this big, you’ll use all of one and a bit of the second. Just grab a smaller wreath form and you’ll only need to grab one wire garland. I began by hot gluing all the moss on the wreath form. I used what I had on hand but if I was going to buy the moss, I’d pick the moss ribbon or something that comes in a sheet rather than the small bits of moss. I used 2 full packages of the small moss.Just find random places to fill in the wreath and get a good covering. It doesn’t need to go all the way to the back because that won’t show. Just cover the wreath form as full as you want it.To wrap the wire garland, start with the wire in the back of the form. Wrap it all around the form in the clockwise direction. When the wire intersects, begin wrapping it around the opposite way. This will help the X’s form in the wreath. The tighter you wrap, the more definition in the farmhouse Christmas wreath you’ll get. That’s it! So easy and fun to create this farmhouse Christmas wreath and bring the look into your own home.
