I had the opportunity to guest post on Expressions Vinyl blog a few weeks ago and I wanted to share with my blog too. I've worked with them before for my daughters party to update some really fun clothes we found at Target for her birthday. I really love their vinyl and their Vinyl Heat Transfer, it's really some of the best I've worked with!
For this project I decided to use Gold Chrome (Brushed) Metalized Vinyl. I had the intention of cutting out the girls' names but each font I used was just not cutting well regardless of what setting I had my blade on. I had a hard time getting a deep enough cut on this vinyl. It was cutting but when it came time to separate it, it would stick a lot. It is beautiful though so if I was going to use it again, which I am sure I will, I will just plan on maybe using a mat and cutting a 10. I ended up just using the feather graphic that was in the Silhouette store and then I paired it with the awesome Market Street line by My Minds Eye. It matched perfect and it looks lovely.
In comparison of my Silhouette and the Cricut Explore, I have to give the cutting to the Explore. The software goes to Silhouette at the moment but I know Cricut is not too far behind. I gave this journal to our Young Woman President, she really deserved it. I couldn't have done any of this without any of the presidency, but she really guided me. She basically planned the whole camp without knowing it!
XOXO, Lindsay
