My Daughter, Leila turned 4 a month ago. We didn't celebrate a month late, I'm just a month late posting. I have a problem with filling my plate all at once. I had 4 different things going on in at 4 week time period so I've been super MIA. This was probably the windiest day I could have chosen. It was sunny the day before and after but this was the only day I could work it in. Wasn't good for my GIANT balloons cause if you think regular balloons don't like wind, try the big boys.Dreamy Birthday Party for a Birthday Girl

I wanted her birthday party to be something fabulous. I found this candle topper from Gnome Sweet Gnome and knew that was what I wanted to go off of. The only problem was is that that I let her play with the candles beforehand and she broke them all so for the party, no candle! I chose to get this tablecloth online from an Etsy shop. I just searched for gold sequence fabric. It cost around $11 a yard. I love how it just shined off the sun and gave some extra sparkle. I just put a dollar store gold plastic cloth underneath it and it worked out fine.

I chose the colors Gold, Pink and Mint. My friend Jen Allyson aka, The Project Girl, had just released her newest line from My Minds Eye called Market Street. It has the perfect tones that I was looking for. I worked on this scrapbook flip frame using the papers and her accessories from the line and an IKEA Tolsby frame. The papers are 3×4″ and I punched two holes in the top of the pages and put C rings to attach and hang from the frame. I cut my dream letters from the same line of paper except for the straight gold R. I got that paper from Michaels and it was $1.99 but worth every penny!Market Street My Minds Eye Frenchie

For the actual birthday cake, it's a FRAUD, a fake, a lie, it's styrofoam! I got this cake round from Michaels. FloraCraft makes it. I also used their Smooth Finish and separated it into 2 bowls and left quite a bit still in the container. I put one drop of pink gel food coloring in one bowl of the Smooth Finish and about 3 drops in the other. I started at the top and over the sides with the white and then with the less pink and finished with the darkest pink. Ombré cakes look easy but no way. I let the Smooth Finish dry completely and with a sanding block, made it as smooth as possible. I made my icing pretty sloppy cause I didn't want a perfect cake. If you're looking for that, then press pretty firm and get it in the grooves. Make sure you do a small layer before you the actual icing layers too.

Dreamy Birthday Party for a Birthday GirlI wanted some fun candy on the table so I contacted Lollipics. Look for more on those in another post. I love how they look and they just tied everything together.Lollipics

I'm digging how this came together and loved seeing how these girls are growing older. I could have done some more treats but they are kids and I don't need them filing up on sweets. We just had some pizza and a good time. I'm loving my birthday girl and I can't believe it's been four years since she came into this world so tiny and fierce.
