Supplies

Each shape took around 20 passes of the knife blade to ensure that it cut through the entire shape. Then use that same Cricut Design Space file to cut your paper stars to go on top of your Cricut chipboard stars.Create this easy Cricut Patriotic Sign perfect for Fourth of July. So easy to make using the Cricut Maker and Knife Blade. #CricutMadeWhen using adhesive with the Cricut Chipboard, do not mix a wet adhesive with a dry adhesive. So I shouldn’t run the cardstock through my Xyron and then paint Mod Podge on top. I need to decide ahead of time what adhesive I’m going to use. Since the white craft paint has a metallic sheen to it, I’m going to just use some Mod Podge for the Cricut patriotic sign. Create this easy Cricut Patriotic Sign perfect for Fourth of July. So easy to make using the Cricut Maker and Knife Blade. #CricutMadeJust paint the chipboard with Mod Podge and then lay the paper stars on the corresponding Cricut Chipboard stars. Next, use some more Mod Podge to layer your Cricut patriotic stars on top of each other.

I’m going to use some E6000 to adhere the star to the wood plank sign. This will make sure that my Cricut patriotic sign will last a long time.

You can only use the Cricut Knife Blade with the Cricut Maker. The Cricut Explore models do not have the force ability to use the Cricut Knife Blade. For all your Knife Blade questions, see this post here. Be sure to use a Strong Grip Mat and some masking tape for the edges.Create this easy Cricut Patriotic Sign perfect for Fourth of July. Fourth of July is the all-time funnest holiday of the year, hands down! I love the fireworks, the food and just the ability to let loose. I created these stars with the Heidi Swapp font from Design Space and I’ve included the file below. Add them to these Dollar Spot Coozies and you’re set.

Supplies

Create personalized coozies using your Cricut ExploreBegin by cutting your design on your Cricut. Be sure to reverse the image for Iron-On, you’ll be so mad at yourself if you don’t ?. Now remove the excess Iron-On. Leave the actual image on the plastic transfer sheet, only remove what you don’t want. Removing Iron-On is relatively easy. I find it easier than removing actual vinyl because it’s not so sticky. Create personalized coozies using your Cricut ExploreCut your plastic so that your images are separated. Next, place it on your Coozie and press it. I use this method all the time on how I adhere my Iron-On and it works like a charm. The key to get a great adhesion is to press and press hard. Let it cool a little and start peeling off the plastic. If you have a place that hasn’t quite stuck, just lay the plastic back down and press again. Create personalized coozies using your Cricut Explore Create personalized coozies using your Cricut ExploreYou’re finished and it’s so easy to create your own Patriotic Coozies.

DIY Patriotic Shirt using Foil Iron-On and your Cricut Explore

May 29, 2017

Making this DIY Patriotic Shirt is easier than you could ever imagine.
Use the Cricut Foil Iron-On to give it lots of flair.
Create your own Patriotic T-Shirt using your Cricut Explore Air 2 and Foil Iron-OnThis post contains affiliate links. Thank you to Cricut for sponsoring this post.

I love using foil iron-on and Cricut by far makes some of my favorite iron-on vinyl. We’re fortunate enough that my kids get to celebrate two cultures. Fireworks play a huge role in their American heritage and their Tongan heritage. For this post, since we’re here in Utah, I’ll be making a DIY Patriotic Shirt and sharing with you the Cricut Explore cut file.

Supplies:

The foil iron-on is just as easy to use as the standard iron-on but it is a little thicker so you have to use your custom settings on your Smart Set Dial. It will be available in the drop-down menu where you select your custom material and use the Neon Iron-On setting. Be sure you remember to mirror your image or you’ll hate yourself for wearing a backwards shirt ;).

Create your own Patriotic T-Shirt using your Cricut Explore Air 2 and Foil Iron-OnYou’ll want to follow this method for using Iron-On, warm up your shirt first with the iron and then place the Iron-On where you desire. This starts the bond almost immediately and you won’t get lifts that are almost always problematic if you’re not used to this material. Make sure your iron is set on medium heat with no steam and be sure to allow it to cool for a few minutes before peeling off the carrier sheet.

The shirt is going to be the background color so that is why I chose a white shirt. I laid my red iron-on first and let it hand under the heat for about 10 seconds using a lot of pressure. Peel up the plastic and then do your blue iron-on, making sure I didn’t touch the hot iron to the red foil. You will now match up the silver to form the USA. I have already sliced your image so it’s set to go and you don’t have to worry about any of the designing.Create your own Patriotic T-Shirt using your Cricut Explore Air 2 and Foil Iron-OnOnce all your foil is on the front of the shirt, turn it inside-out and press really well on the back to ensure a tight seal of the foil. When you care for your shirts, wash them inside out on gentle.

Now enjoy the DIY Patriotic Shirt and party the night away. Happy Independence Day!!Create your own Patriotic T-Shirt using your Cricut Explore Air 2 and Foil Iron-OnThis is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.
