A few weeks ago I guest posted on Mod Podge rocks about these super easy DIY Chalkboard Coasters. You really only need two things, the coasters and some rub-ons from My Minds Eye. I used their line of Jubilee which I love and the rub-ons come in 4 different colors so you can get a cool look with any of them. You can purchase them here.
Rub-ons in the scrapbook community have come a long way. Some will stick wherever they touch but not these. Make sure you know the placement and then use the stick to rub the sticker where you want it. These cannot come of and if you make a mistake, it won't come off either. So, be careful!
For the coasters, I grabbed mine at Michaels a few months back and I haven't seen them since. I was able to find similar ones here or you can just use some slate tiles from your local hardware store and it'll give you the same effect you want. My issue is that I've seen a lot of our local scrapbook stores closing that would normally carry the latest lines of My Minds Eye so a lot of my stuff I do grab from Amazon.
I've loved the character it's added to our side table and you can also give these as a gift. They're inexpensive and they're homemade and came with thought. It's pretty much the perfect thing! Make sure you check out some of my other posts and 2015 will be a pretty awesome year for everyone!
XOXO, Lindsay
