I made some Thanksgiving Place Cards the other day and I wanted some napkins to help bring the whole set together. I wanted something that was going to be classy, so I thought I'd just whip out my Cricut Maker and make some gold foil napkins. These DIY Thanksgiving napkins are so easy and beautiful.
Supplies for your DIY Gold Foiled Napkins
- Cloth Napkins
- Gold Foil Iron-On
- Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker
- EasyPress or Iron
- EasyPress Mat
- Cricut Design Space File
I found this awesome Turkey in Cricut Design Space but it was a negative image in a square. I just made an additional square, selected both images and sliced it. It left me with a positive image that I was able to make this gold foil napkin.
Head to the Design Space link above and cut the image out of gold foil iron-on. You want to be sure to mirror your image before you cut.
Some use vinyl that they've customized and placed it on their Cricut machines to help them remember to mirror their images before they cut iron-on. If you forget to mirror your image often, I suggest you do this.
Preheat your EasyPress to 295°F for 30 seconds. Weed out your image and warm up your napkins for 5 seconds. Place the image on the napkin and press for 30 seconds. Wait at least 1-2 minutes to take off the carrier sheet of the gold foil iron-on vinyl. If you remove it too early, the foil will be wrinkled and not smooth. It took me a while to learn that.
After your carrier sheet has been removed, your DIY Thanksgiving napkins are ready to use.
