This Harry Potter Wish Bank will help you make all your dreams come true with the trip of a lifetime to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. See how to make it below.
A few years ago my family and I had the opportunity to go to Universal Studios in Orlando and it was one of our most favorite vacations we’ve ever taken. The part we loved most? Of course The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I can do without those virtual rides but the Hogwarts Express was a big highlight of the entire area.
We would like to go back but we also need to save our money cause vacations are not cheap. Did you know at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter you can exchange your money into Galleons so that you can purchase items in Diagon Alley and in Hogsmead. You can go to Gringotts bank and their virtual elves will greet you and that’s where you can get your Galleons in exchange for
Where can I find Harry Potter Scrapbook Paper?
I wanted to make something to get my kids excited to save so that they can use all their hard earned money at Honeydukes or at Zonko’s Joke Shop. I used my favorite paper from the Paper House Productions Harry Potter line and this wooden piggy bank.
The perfect Harry Potter Scrapbook Paper can be found at Paper House Productions. They have coordinating washi tape, all houses of Hogwarts, and stickers that are great quality.
Last month for
I created my own Harry Potter SVG file so that you can use your Cricut or Silhouette to cut the saying out of some vinyl if you wanted. Head to the bottom of the post to grab that SVG file.
Supplies for your own Harry Potter Vacation Savings Bank
- Paper House Productions Hogwarts Castle Scrapbook Paper
- Wooden Wish Bank
- Silver Spray Paint
- Masking Tape
- Cricut True Control Knife
- Transfer Tape
- Harry Potter Wand SVG File (see below)
The Hogwarts at Night paper is perfect for this little bank and you’re going to flip when you see the castle in real life!
Time needed: 1 hour and 30 minutes.
How to make your own Vacation Wish Bank
- Tape your Wish Box glass
Begin by removing the back and use masking tape to protect your glass before you spray. Use the Cricut True Control Knife to cut the edges and to make the edges crisp and sealed before you begin to spray.
- Spray Paint your Wish Box
Use your desired color of paint and spray your wooden wish box on the inside and the outside. Allow it to dry before removing your masking tape.
- Attach the Hogwarts at Night
Position the frame backing over your desired area of the scrapbook paper and then use the knife to cut around the edge. Use some craft glue and a brayer to get a smooth application and to prevent
andbubbles from forming. I just use my scraper tool when I apply my vinyl.
- Cut and Apply the Wand SVG
Upload the Wand SVG file to your cutting software and cut using your desired color of vinyl. I used some holographic sparkle vinyl for my wish bank. Weed your image and then use the transfer tape to apply it to the glass.
- Attach the back of your Wish Bank
Secure the back to your wish bank and call it good!
This wish bank is perfect for my daughter. Harry Potter has become a favorite series of hers and taking her back to Universal Orlando Resort is a goal of mine. To book your own Harry Potter vacation, visit Get Away Today for great deals and top-notch service.
