Here I am with my second entry to the Cricut Design Space Star challenge. This months theme is Holiday Decor/Gifts. I wanted to do Christmas even though we are pretty much right in the prime of Halloween. I've got to be honest, I do not decorate for Thanksgiving. In fact, I've started taking down my Halloween decorations to start making room for my tree. I love my tree, I love garlands, I love the green. That's why for this project I decided to do a Holly Berry Wreath and use it as a centerpiece.
I used the new cartridge by Anna Griffith called Christmas Kitsch and the Holly Simple cut shape. I also used the Holly and Pine shape from the 3D Floral Home Decor cartridge. The papers I used were simple, just some variations of greens and some of the Lost and Found Christmas from My Minds Eye. I couldn't find some double sided on hand but I did find the glittered paper pad and I love it, you can find that here. You'll see in another project how it all ties in! It is a retired line and their newest lines are fabulous. I just pinned the leaves into the base of a styrofoam wreath form and for the berries, I used a glue dot and clustered them all together. So easy!
I got the Hurricane from Ikea at it was only $12 and the candle is also from there for $10. What a steal and it will tie in with any holiday.
I cannot recommend the Cricut Explore enough and the quality of the cute. I had zero sticking and zero tears. I did definitely crunch the paper and move it around because I wanted some definition to the wreath and for it to look like there was some movement and not so stiff and one dimensional. I wanted it to look real. I added this fun raffia bow that I found at JoAnn's in their trim section and that was it.
Don't forget to enter the giveaways from all this week and if you don't have a Cricut Explore, I really suggest it. It's a great deal and they are always having sales of some kind. If you like your chances, enter our Team 16 Giveaway below! We're so excited to be able to give one away and don't forget to tell your friends about it, maybe they'll share the love! Don't forget also to check out my last project of the fun Garland Advent that I also made with the Cricut Explore!
